Santa Barbara Area Cycling and Group Rides

Saturdays: 8:00 am (65 miles) fast pace
(Lake Ride from the Dolphin Fountain)

This ride usually does the lake loop around Lake Casitas. Hills first, 192/Foothill Rd to 150 back along the coast. Some people only do the hills on 150 and return. Regroups at the top of the 2nd climb, lake entrance, and the top of Bates.

Saturdays: 8:30 am (35-45 miles)
Club Echelon
has a ride at 8:30 am starting from the Vieja Valley School - The ride is an intermediate ride (35 to 45 mi).  There are 3 designated regroups.

Sundays: 9:00 am (35 miles)
Weekend World's fast pace
East Beach Bathhouse parking lot

To the Rincon and back. The start is usually late by a few minutes but the pace more than makes up for it. Regroup at the top of Bates Rd. (Rincon).

Echelon Sundays: 8:30 am (35 miles)
There's an A and B group. Race pace for the A group
East Beach Bathhouse parking lot

Out and back loop around Bates and Gobernador. Regroup at the water stop on Gob.

Tuesday/Thursday: 8:00 am (35 miles)
(Dolphin Fountain)

Same route as Sunday Worlds, 35 mile loop to Rincon. The pace can be anywhere from a piano cruise at 18 mph to a blazing 30+ mph, great training ride nonetheless in either case. Some start at ROCO at 7 for a warmup or to climb.


Tuesday: 12:00 pm (15 miles)
Goleta Training Ride

Meet at Fairview and Cathedral Oaks at noon. High intensity race pace workout of about 45 minutes. Out Cathedral Oaks, up Glen Annie, regroup on the descent. Right at the light. Right at the stop sign at Calle Real. Sprint up to the base of Ferran. Fast pace back to Cathedral Oaks and Fairview.

Tuesday and Thursady 12:15 pm (25 miles)
Bathhouse Ride

Meet at the west parking lot entrance to the Bathhouse at noon ready to leave by 12:15. Regular regroups, out to Carp and back. about 1:45 total ride time.

It meets every Saturday @ 9 AM at the Bulldog Cafe in Solvang. Different times of year require different types of training so we will adapt the ride as is needed.
